Laura was born in Melbourne, Australia and Laura and her family moved to Singapore when she was 18 months.  Laura finally settled in Great Britain when she was 6.

Laura started to play tennis at 6 and began her junior career in May 2007 in Sweden.  Laura won her 1st junior title in Finland in October 2007 and became the 1st British winner of the girls singles at Wimbledon since 1984 in July 2008.  Laura won Wimbledon in her 1st appearance and was unseeded.

Laura's hobbies are horse-riding, cooking and shopping.
